Using your own vehicle you take people who are unable to get to their essential appointments, e.g. doctors, hospitals, dentists, podiatry. Volunteers are reimbursed for expenses incurred. Volunteer drivers are usually people who live in Cheadle Hulme and the surrounding locality, are of any age and have some spare time and enjoy driving and meeting local people. They may have recently retired, or find that their children have gone to school or university and feel they would like to give something back to the Community. Drivers use their own fully comprehensive insurance whilst in their cars, but Communicare provides the additional insurance needed on each logged journey.
